Okay. So I'm totally sick of teachers and adverts and the media posting up pictures of Kim Kardashian next to severely anorexic, totally emaciated women and saying "which do you think is sexy?" I mean really. If you're gonna make comparisons like that you need to apply the same degree of extremity. So if you're going with the emaciated girl, then next to her you have to put up a picture of someone who is hideously obese, to the point they can't leave their houses because they can't fit through the doors. But if you're going with Kim, then why don't you put up Kate Moss? Then it really is a matter of opinion and not a really patronizing irritating question.
So, now I'm reading a Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, (read the Kite runner already, excellent) which is quite coincidental seeing as i was recently in a debate about banning the Burqa, so, empty space, what's your opinion on banning the burqa?

Beauty and other new things...
Sooo here I am again ahahaha. time for some opinions! Right, so about two years ago I first came across this movement on the Internet, pro-Ana. That is, to those who don't know, a movement that believes anorexia is a legitimate lifestyle choice. At first, my eyebrows raised past my hairline and I was shocked that people bought into this. But I have this fascination with the shocking so I looked into it and I must admit...
I was inspired.
It was absolutely outrageous, seeing masses of people so open about their eating disorders up there, offering "support" to one another. And then I guess it clicked, how much society hates anorexics. How unjustly as well. I don't think it is even considerably fair for the society that thrusts images of perfection on these girls and women, to then criticise them for trying to achieve it. Above and beyond that, I used to think it was ridiculous for these Ana women to believe the world was jealous of them, I mean, they were sick right? But upon closer inspection, the world is jealous, the world scowls at them, says it's unhealthy and takes another bite of its burger. They too secretly wish they were thin, but they're not willing to do what it takes, and even now I can't blame them. No matter how much support there is in the pro-Ana, secret underground anonymous lives these people lead they're still taking a very difficult path.
I dare you, those who think they're pathetic (a particularly nasty approach) to fast for a day, when everyone is telling you to eat. Good luck.
I guess I've been enlightened.
Let me be honest here, I don't think I'm anorexic, occasionally I show the tendencies (fasting, binging, an obsession with perfection) but I lack what seems to be a key factor. I don't think I'm fat, and I don't think I'm ugly. I'm by no means jaw dropping, but I don't think I'm ugly.
I only want to lose 5 kg (10lbs) i currently weigh about 98lbs (44.5kg) and am 5"4 so there you go.
And it got me thinking. Who is society to tell someone they should be happy with how they look and who they are when it is society that creates the feelings on inadequacy?
So to all the Ana girls out there, good luck, I hope you find what you're looking for.
On a different not, I spent the day considering free immigration (when people can move to different countries without visas/ green cards etc.) And is depressing as this is I ask the abyss once more what it thinks on this? I haven't made up my mind on it yet.
And on a positive note, I'm reading a rather entertaining novel. Possessed by Niki Valentine.

The Beginning
Terrible title I know, but hey what else am I meant to call it? So this is the first time I'm posting my thoughts into the abyss and hoping someone reads them. I'll be honest, I'm not the most likable person around but I can offer support, advice... I'm good at that :). So mostly what this blog will be about, now don't get too surprised here, but me :D I will try and keep these posts interesting by fleshing them out with opinions on things other than myself as well, however. Expect to see frustration, criticism, and sarcasm. Don't expect me to use this as a diary. I will tell you about myself and my life but I will not "journal" on here, oh how I hate using nouns as verbs. I will also try not to be too negative about everything and make sure I write one positive thing at the very least in every post. Positive thing for this post? Ive finally started posting yay!
I do warn you, I am very busy so these posts might not occur as often (or as rarely) as you would like.
In case you don't feel like checking my interests I'll put them up here. Music (not the fluffy stuff, please). Literature, yes I read, a lot, guilty. Creative writing and poetry! Please, if anyone ever reads this I would love to read some of your stuff if you write :) same goes with art, absolutely love it. Anime of course as you can see from my profile (sorry but I would like to remain anonymous to the general populous).
Finally, don't be concerned if I start arguing with myself. (subtle hint here: please if there's anything you'd like to discuss, I won't have to argue alone.)
So cheers, hope you follow me.
